Symphonic Band
The Symphonic Band at the 2009 Spring Concert
The Atlee Symphonic Band consists of mainly 9th grade and underclass students.
The Symphonic Band performs grade III-IV music and rehearses as a full band after school. All chair placements are based on audition in the fall. Auditions for these groups are during the first week of school.
This group performs at all concerts and at the District I Festival in March. The Symphonic Band has had a history of success with superior ratings at Concert Assessment each year. Emphasis will be on classical performance techniques and fundamentals. Each player will be required to pass proficiency quizzes on their instrument. Students in Symphonic Band are strongly encouraged to take private lessons on their instrument for enrichment and advancement.
Students in this group should maintain a practice regimen of 60 minutes per week.
