Incoming 8th Grade Families,
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Atlee Band Program! In these next few years your child will grow and mature through performance, teamwork, cooperation, and leadership. The Atlee Marching Band is one of the finest student organizations in the Greater Richmond Area and one of the top Marching Bands in the Commonwealth! The Marching Raiders have a history of success and this is the reason that over 90 percent of enrolled band students participate!
You have worked hard to make it to this point in your musical journey. The next four years will be even better! I strongly recommend that everyone participates in the marching band. You will make new friendships, learn new musical concepts, work toward a common goal, and enter high school in a great performing group. We welcome all band students who want to have fun and learn lifelong lessons while doing it!
We will have our Annual Marching Band Gala right after the CMS Spring Concert on May 14 in the Band Room! This will be a brief meet and greet with our student leadership team, band booster parents, and the band staff. We hope to see you there!
I have placed the 2013-2014 Marching Raider Commitment Form on CHARMS and on Blackboard. The deadline for this form is June 7. Please make sure you include the deposit with the form. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
I wish you all the best as you end this chapter in your school life. High school opens new doors and opportunities for you. You will only get out of high school what you put into it. Parents, these next years will fly by! Please let me know how I can assist in your transition to high school!

P.S. Have you had a chance to login to CHARMS Office Assistant yet? This is the online program we use to communicate with families, keep track of student accounts, maintain our event calendar, and much more. Here is how to get in:
1. Go to www.charmsoffice.com
2. On the top right, click on Enter/Login
3. Click on Parent/Students/Members
4. Enter the school code: atleeband
5. Your initial login password is your student ID number. I recommend changing the password when you first enter!
