Ways and Means Events 2011-2012

Welcome to the Ways and Means page for 2011-2012.

What is Ways and Means???…in a word it is FUNDRAISING FUN!!


We are so happy to have so many families become a part of the Atlee Band Family. Fundraising is a fundamental part of the band program. Over the past several years the boosters have purchased new uniforms, a new floor and carpet for the band room, also  a new bass drum and gong stand.  Last year we purchased new chairs for the band room. These  posture chairs and the racks were almost $7000.00.  

Mr Rozecki has given us his 5 year plan to replace some very expensive instruments. We need everyone’s help to raise money for the program.   You will find listed below many activities for you and your children to participate in.  There are also 50/50 fundraisers for your children to raise money for their Student Accounts.
 
SO jump in and help with whatever suits your fancy…..

Please keep your eyes on the website for the events coming up this fall and on into the new year.  You can also check the Atlee Band Calendar, events that are in GREEN are fundraising events.  We need all of you to help reach our goals.   BECAUSE after all it’s for the kids.

Concessions:

Come to the Visitors side on Home Football games and buy the great food, and support the Band!



Concert CD's:

Concert CD's are available at each Concert performance.  We also have other events going on the night of concerts, sales, raffles, etc.  All to help the band!



Christmas Tree Pick-Up:

This is a great opportunity for the Band to come and take your tree away after the holidays, and help the band at the same time.  2011 Contact is Board Vice President Claude Lundquist, you can email him for more info...Claude.Lundquist@atleeband.com.  We also will have a flyer with dates, and times this Fall.



Atlee Band Spirit Cards!

These cards are available now, for only $10.00 each!!

This is a 50/50 fundraiser for the kids.  We will issue cards to parents for the kids to sell.  Ask any Raider Band member for a card!




Chick-fil-A Spirit Nights:

Chick-Fil-A Spirit Nights are select Thursday evenings at the Virginia Center Commons Store, right across from the Mall.  There is Band Practice on Thursday evenings from 4 p.m. to 6 p., so come after that!

Please print off the vouchers for that night, (see the dates below, and click on the red date to download that nights voucher) please present this voucher when you order.  Parent Captains will have extra vouchers as well.  We will need 1-2 Parent Volunteers to man the prize wheel, each spin on the wheel only costs .50, and you get a great Chick-Fil-A food prize!!  Our band will receive 15% of the receipts between 5pm and 8pm.

Tropical Smoothie Spirit Nights:

Tropical Smoothie Spirit Nights are select Thursday evenings at the store in the Rutland Commons Shopping Center.  There is Band Practice on Thursday evenings from 4 p.m. to 6 p., so come after that!

We will need 1-2 Parent Volunteers.  Our band will receive a percentage of the receipts for the evening.

Ci-Ci's Pizza Spirit Nights:

CI-CI’s Pizza  DOUGHRAISER nites are every other Thursday from 5p-8p starting in September.

The Band will get 15% of all the receipts presented  in the AHS Band Booster box , every two weeks we get a check.
 
There is Band Practice on Thursday evenings from 4 p.m. to 6 p., so come after that!   All kids love pizza!!!  It is good time to meet other parents and feed those hungry marchers.

We will be collecting orders for Spirit Wear throughout the Season.

Brunswick Stew Day:

The Spring Brunswick Stew sale dates is January 28, 2012.

The all day cooking event is a great way to meet other parents and students.  We will need a captain to collect orders so that we know how much stew to make. The stew orders MUST be paid in advance to insure that enough ingredients can be purchased to cook the stew.

Students should begin collecting orders now. This fundraiser is one in which part of the proceeds will go to each  student account.  the more they sell the more $$$goes into their respective accounts.  We will need a captain to collect orders and a small team to make sure the stew is distributed at the end of the day.  Distribution takes place in the AHS parking lot.  Stone and Blair also need folks to help cook all day, the kids like to help also.  This is a great time for all.  Whatever you can do we will appreciate.  This is a fundraiser for the kids to earn money for their student accounts.



Kroger  Cares Cards

The boosters have purchased Kroger gift cards. Each card will cost you $5 up front.  The purchaser then reloads the card with whatever amount of money they want to and uses it to buy groceries or gas.  When you buy groceries  please use the card to debit your grocery purchase.  

This card can be reloaded and used over and over. 

An easy way for out of town family members to help support the BAND.  Remember to keep using your cards. Once activated you can use and refill a many times as you want.  If you do not use for card for 6 months the card becomes void.

Every 4 weeks the AHS Band Booster Kroger account is totaled and we get a check for 5% of the total.   This can really add up. If you shop at Kroger on a regular basis this is an easy way to help the band.
